Title: Ideas on what to do with these rims......
Post by: Cally on 23 October 2009, 23:49: Just picked these up for few quid on evilbay, need a bit of tidying and thinking what i can do with um...

What ya reckon i should do to um... i'm thinking either have um polished, paint um black (the cheapest option).
Maybe polished with coloured lip...black with a coloured lip, i dunno...what ya think, any ideas... :smiley:

But if you lack creativity and want people to tell you how to refinish your alloy wheels then why not start a poll....?

Seriously though, what colour is your car? You could colour code them, it's a pain masking up 4 wheels but look good when done. As stated crackle finish is the new "scene" thing as seen in PVW on that mk3 1.8T. Or you could go lairy and paint them dayglo, contrast etc. But ultimately look around you, you can get insperation from the strangest places...

Satin Black matt over Saturn yellow gloss paint.... Can decide if polished lip would be too much though.

But... i've just dropped 1 rim off to the polishers to have just the lip polished, i'll have a looksy when it's done and probably make a decision on what to do with the centres then... :laugh:.

My golf is red by the way... :smiley:

For the record Saturn Yellow is the name of the colour used in hi vis jackets etc :wink:

This could be the route i go, it does sound good... :smiley:. doubt i'll powder coat um tho, just adds to much cost, a bit of paint'll do me..

Whats the best way to get the crackle effect..do the paint come in a can and go on like it or is it a technique to it.

Don't think i could do the hi viz colour... don't like the sound of that at all.... :laugh:.
