Haven't named current one yet, well, it's been called lots of names just none I can print here...

Going to get my clutch sorted as well, be interested to hear how long your grease monkeys take/how much they charge?

they have said around £220 and 1 day.

In response to Jay: A cable wouldn't cause slipping though, right?

I believe they can if incorrectly fitted, if it's slipping a lot it's probably the clutch (and if it were the cable it's too late) and I was just suggesting the cable as a cheap 'try before you spend a small fortune on the clutch'.

She's all fixed!

Well, now I know what a GTI should feel like! She's had a dodgy clutch since I got her, and now feels really resoponsive. No more slipping! Woohoo.

And for the guy that was asking, I paid £273 including a new manually adjustable clutch cable.

Good stuff, it's ace when the clutch doesn't slip. Did the price include the clutch?
Also are the manually adjustable interchangeable with auto ones? It's begining to look like the guy didn't change the release bearing :evil:
If this proves to be the case then I'll be glad I don't have a shotgun...


I'm gutted about mine. Car is rubbish to drive at mo :cry:

But yeah, price included LUK clutch, and yep - it's ace when the clutch doesn't slip!

Meant that if I owned a gun, I would shoot him.

Release bearing should be changed at the same time as clutch is.
