Title: painting badges

gonna spray my front and rear vw badges black, does the front badge just pop out or is there a knack to getting it out??
also did any one remove the rear badge or  just mask round it??, if i have to take it out, again is there a knack, cheers

not sure about the back but the front 1 twist it 30 degrees to the left and it pops out. i bought a front 1 from dubstop international. cheap enough a came in a couple days!

With the rear badge you need to get a credit cardsized piece of plastic and slide it under the edge of the chrome. Gently work the plastic around the chrome badge, gradually easing the gap open as you go around. It should pop off with very little hassle :smiley: A good idea if you are painting the rear badge black would be to get some vinyl in a similar colour to the body colour of the car and apply that to the backing of the boot handle before re-applying the painted badge. Mine is carbon fibre, but the idea is the same :cool:

Is this the same for the ''early'' flush fit ones or just the later ''raised'' type ?.Mine is an 05 flush fit & has a bit of the white worm & i would like to change it.Cheer's.

i have an early flush one black, very tricky to do and i sprayed mine on the car  :smiley:

The flush-fit ones are a little trickier. They would need to be changed along with the whole latch unit if you wanted to upgrade to the new style 3D version. It takes around an hour to swap them over to the new style :smiley:

I did it myself when I swapped to the Carbon-Fibre one. It isn't hard :smiley:

I also happen to have a spare 3D one ready for painting up :wink:
