I brought these's of ebay
(http://i824.photobucket.com/albums/zz164/bob_wills/CookieCutters.jpg)
I am getting new tyres tomorrow 195/45/15 (Toyo Proxies) they are Porsche Cookie Cutters off a 944 and are 7" wide i have the adapters for them but was wondering if any one knows if they will fit with the car down very low??
Also if anyone else has these wheels on a MK3 can you post your pics please
Cheers guys
waiting for vento front end..............
-
I've never seen them on a Mk3 before, think they're best suited to old school cars, for example Mk1 Golfs and Caddys.
What width are your adapters and what's the offset of the wheels?
I have 7" wide wheels with a final offset of ET15 and the rears rub like a b!tch
Oh and another one going for a Vento front?

Nice rims mate, something different and thats a good thing. Spot on :)
As for vento fronts, anyone with a vento front is a loser

intresting wheels, good choice. not sure how they will look but well worth trying them. oh and just so you know a 45/15 profile will put the gearing/speedo out

well you will notice when you get done doing 33/34 in a 30 because the speedo is wrong. there is a calculator somewhere

In that case you can contest the ticket, you can take your car to a garage and get them to test it, they'll write on headed paper that your speedo is wrong, so the speeding ticket will get dropped

Read what Shep said!!
Smaller wheels/tyres can make your speedo read incorrectly
For example the speedo may say 30 but in actual fact you're doing 33/34!

Going down a tyre size if anything will make the speedo over read more than it already does, not under read. so when it says 30mph u will properly be doing around 27mph.

Don't think they will suit a mk3 to be honest.

Even better never get done for speeding as i will be to slow lol
Low and slow anyway thats the way to go
-
More to it than just the speedo being out, gearing will suffer as well.

same could be said for running 16's.. or looking at running 8.5's on the front affecting handling etc etc..
-
:undecided:
Well i am not to worried just after looks really want low and slow lol

Not really, 16"s or even 17"s with the correct size tyres will not affect speedo or gearing.
-
The effect on the speedo is nowt, speedos arent 100% accurate anyhow since they have to take wear and tear and tyre wear into account.
gearing differences will just mean acceleration will be a touch better.
