Title: Mk 4 GT TDi 130ps - remap done and happy!
Post by: cumbriankeith on 22 October 2009, 08:44
Had a remap done on my 03 oil burner a few days ago by Pendle Performance. Would have gone to R-tech if they were closer to me - Pendle are still an hour or so away from me so I only had to take an afternoon off - and there was an eBay deal on for just £185, admittedly with no rolling road session.
I was looking for better economy (as well as any performance gain that I have to put up with!) - doing my normal 12 mile commute of very mixed road types (winding streets and lanes as well as a few miles of dual carriageway) the consumption has increased from 50mpg to 55.
So I'll get my money back in a couple of months, (honestly dear!!)

They seem to have a decent reputation but i always worry when a relatively unheard of company pops up and claim to be experts in mapping all types of cars.. maybe i'm just paranoid

Did they explain all the possible future side-effects of the remap? Hoses on those 130s are a nightmare!

slightly off topic but thought i would mention it.

i have an ibiza 130 remapped.

regarding the boost hoses. i bought 76mm heat shrink from heatshrinkonline (i think). shrank this over the joint and put a large cable tie each side of the joint for extra security. the joint doesnt move, its very secure, and no boost leaks. cheap too

just thought i would share :)
