Hi,
I'm thinking of refurbing the gear selector mechanism - the bit the cables attach to on top of the box. There is quite a bit of wear in some of the pivots/bushes etc and getting into first/second requires me to push the gear lever firmly over to the left for it to go into 1st gear smoothly. Changing into 3rd/4th is no problem as the gear lever is pushed almost straight forward from the neutral posn. The box is fine apart from this - no nasty noises or anything so I don't think its a synchro problem.
Has anyone got an exploded pic of the linkage mechanism so that I can identify what I need before visiting the main stealers ? As mentioned its an 02A box from an ABF 95 year golf

Cheers mate - just what I was looking for.

You sure it doesn't just need adjusting?

I can't find a decent (understandable) explanation in any manual or the it'net of how to try and adjust it and am reluctant to try without the proper procedure. Also as previously mentioned there is quite a lot of play/wear in the various pivots etc.

Hello,
Planning on adjusting my o2a gear linkage as 1st is a little difficult sometimes, so reading through various bits of info. Can anyone point out the exact bolts from the diagram above with regards to the two bolts described in the link above?
Is this the under hood bolt?
