Post by: VR6_Wherry on 20 October 2009, 12:19

Shall i sell it and buy a cheap run around or keep it still?

I need reasons why its worth keeping other then its white lol!

Don't want a 16v or VR6 as i'm planning on going travelling soon but still confuzzled

Defo keep it Mate     I sold mine a while back and regretted it ever since until August when I bought an identical version and am loving it every day since.  The good thing about Mark 3's is that you can modify them at affordable costs and whatever you buy for it will hold it's value.  If you sell a Mark 3 you will pull about a grand(ish) usually and what could you buy for that which would give you that much enjoyment??   I tried a Rover Tomcat (mint and great runner)  but no where near. Then tried a Subaru Impreza Prodrive limited edition (mint and great runner)  Again no where near - was nice but enjoying the GTi more than ever before.
My advice is treat yourself to something for the Golf and the enjoyment will soon be back!!!!

Cheers     Deano

If you going travelling soon I'm assuming your going to sell it when you go?

Might as well just keep it till then than have to go through the hassle of selling / buying again.

Thats very true from all of you thats what i loved about it to begin with! Im now 20 and had the car for 2 years i just feel its time to get something else...

I will be selling it but hopefully to my brother so it will still be there for me to drive!

It is cheap to mod but i don't know what else i can do.. I've already got SPAX on it (adjustable dampers with a 60mm drop), piper cross induction kit, de cat, cat back Jetex Exhaust system, its all been serviced recently, DVD Player, nice sound system (not OTT) de-badged Grill, Hella Qins (Quads or Twins), Smoked inticators, smoked rear lights, VR6 splitter and i think thats it... Oh and its White like Adams was

Thats kind of also whats putting me off lol PVW there was Turbo or Supercharged (i can't quite remember) 8v only 170 BHP which isn't that impressive altough having 331lb torque is pretty impressive.

I can't afford to be going down that route and would prefer not to...

I really want a Jeep tho to offroading so im kinda torn...

Your Golf would off road better than this!!!!!!   Land Rover's best for off road or something like a Shogun for a road user 4x4.     Cheers      Deano

Haha cheers for the replys guys!

Still undecided at the moment...but looking at the prices of a Defender i could get an R32 for that!!

If i sell it, being the Channel Islands i'll see it all the time and i know that some foreigner will end up ragging the balls off it and stacking it down a green lane
