Hey all, im curious how much im looking at for a VR6 engine for my mk2 in the present market, I have checked the flea bay and they are coming in at £400 or alot more and thats not always with evrything you need, is this right? i didnt think they were so pricey?
I have a 1.8 8v at the min but ive put on the Audi short block bottom end so it pulls brilliantly, so well in fact ive bust the clutch some how lol, im onlt guessing from what people have said on here that a VR6 is a good way to go?
I apologise if this has already been covered in the past but as we all know the price of these things always change, cheers in advance Paul
EDIT: Also im trying to find something on the forum about swapping the engine not sure of all the parts i need, and does the ECU need changing aswell, or can a stand alone one be used?

would just throw in everythign off a corrado tbh. or a mk3 or a passat.
may as well use std ecu, aftermarket can be used but be carefull some don't like the narrow angel vee thing

Right, that mean the standard ecu off the donor for the VR6? prob best to get a full donor vehicle if i can then i suppose thanks for the reply.

Full donor only and running, otherwise how will you know if the motor's good?
-
Why not just buy a decent VR6?

LoL I want the power but love the Mk2 Looks :D
