Bring on the remap!!!

Did you paint the bay? or just clean it and degrease it?
Looks really good mate, coming along well.
Cant wait to get cracking on mine
-
looking good mate
wish i had the balls to do something like that
keep us updated with pics
pat.
-
looking good mate
would like to do my engine one day
-
Just a tart up job or did you actually make the engine better?
-
Looking good.
-
hey man thanks!
It really isn't as daunting as it seems, there's only one place for everything so it ain't too bad :) (i'd say you can't go wrong but i guess you can :P)
-
Cleaned the bay and polished it, cleaned up the rust and hammerited it. not a show room finish by any means but practical.
The engine was dipped in acid and had both top and bottom skimmed. Fitted an extra thick head gasket and heavy duty bearings. There is nothing performance wise done, no upgrades as such - I have fitted uprated injector nozzles and panel filter - will be fitting straight thru exhaust, fmic and having it remapped.
-
thats sweet mate!
looks really good, and like ya say, practical!
do ya mind me asking how much its cost ya cos mines on its way out and ive gotta start consdering the options! lol
-
I think all in all, with the engine dips/facing and new clutch (G60 flywheel + clutch yea baby ;) ) glow plugs, gaskets, rings, bearings, oil, antifreeze, filters etc etc, it's cost me about £400 - but i've got an engine with basically 0 miles on it :) - well, 140 but who's counting :p
-
That's really good man, well done, and great price for a new engine too, I wish I had the knowledge and know how I'd rebuild my engine seeing as it's broke. lol!
-
nice job!
but thats all your own labour so that again at least, lol
but it looks sweet!!
bet it drives well then now!
-
Still running it in at the moment but it's sweet :)
Very sharp and responsive, pulls very well and doesn't smoke much if any! (that's with the uprated injectors :) )
-
good work dude
