no worries  ;)

hang onto those numberplates though, because if u sell the car or transfer the private plate, they will most likely re-assign that reg back to it  ;)

Youre not allowed to put a plate on that makes your car look newer. So you have to stick to J or older  :-\

Careful when youre looking at other plate sites - my mate wanted to buy G1LBS, which was up for ?2799+vat plus a transfer fee. She actually bought it from DVLA for ?2999 all in, a saving of about 400 bar  ;) :D

Cheers speedy, I never knew that. Bit harsh tho eh? I mean no one can tell the reg from a private plate anyways, so why worry about 1st letter!!! lol

is that true about the private plate has to have the same first letter as your original reg???  My mate said that but I thought it was a load of *****

No it doesn't have to have the same first letter at all, but it is not aloud to make the car look newer than it is.

So you couldn't have X123 DUB on a 1990 car but you could have A123DUB on it.

You can have any Irish plate on what ever the age i.e. ICE 1234

yeah you'd have to go to suffix plates to get some originality
