Title: Air Bag
Post by: paul73 on 17 October 2009, 20:48
Hi, My airbag warning light has come on and stays on all the time. Changed the air bag unit and the light remains on. Any ideas how i can sort out the fault please? Thanks Paul

Have you had the system scanned for faults..? try that and also deleting them, maybe the old code just needs deleting.

Is there anything you can do that doesn't requires an expensive trip to the garage?
Thanks

Buy a vagcom lead from ebay (about £14) and download the free vagcom software from the internet.

This should enable you to read and reset the fault codes.

Without this you will end up changing parts as pure guesswork.

The ring in the steering wheel is a common failure.
