Dont get me wrong they are lovely wheels, ive always been a huge fan and was tempted for some on the R32! Its just they were the defining feature (for me) for the mk5, they were the best hot hatch wheels on any car at the time.

Maybe some photo shop gurus could pop on some ch's or some of these

that's a nice motor.
i want one. sob.
i wonder when i will get mine?

i see that yours appears to have the adaptive chassis button as well as the headlight washers from the winter pack and the leather. i've ordered what is basically the sh!tty basic GTI, and i'm semi-wondering whether the winter pack may have been a good idea because by the time i'll get my hands on one, it might be snowing
does yours have the heated seats I presume? are they nice? i kinda like the idea of warming my butt. avoiding the cold-arse feeling when you crouch down to do a Number 2 is something good if it can be avoided in life... although my wallet may not agree...

The washers are a fairly good idea, but be warned, when you 'skoosh' them, they go feking everywhere, all over the bonnet, wing mirrors, windscreen...... but the lights come up a real treat

We love the ACC. Havent tested out Sport on it yet as I want to break her in gently, but the comfort makes the ride very comfy indeed. It's not a huge change from normal mode, just ever so slight in my opinion, but what it does change is noticable and makes for a 'nicer' drive.

i presume the light washers use the same liquid as the windscreen washers? assuming the water is mixed in with the potentially corrosive anti-freeze stuff, you don't really want to be spraying it too often and dissolve the beautiful paintjob like acid rain
plus i assume you can only realistically spray it whilst driving 100mph, cos if you do it at standstill, the spray will just dribble over the lights and there is no movement of air to push it away?
i'm just rambling now - it looks very nice, i hope you enjoy the machine

Thanks I'm fairly sure I'll add the ACC aswell...... Let me know what you think of sport when you've run her in... Enjoy

No your spot on, you do need to skoosh while driving fairly fast. I tried it while messing around with all the gadgets and buttons  and its not nice doing it when the car is not moving. I dont know about the liquid from the lights and windows being the same, someone else prob be better answering that one.

Can I ask why you ordered the winter pack? I ordered the xenons and leather so I therefore get the heated seats and washer jets included without paying extra for the pack. Is the only difference that the jets are heated?

Yep basically yeah. What you get exactly for the winter pack is...

Headlight washers, heated front seats, heated windscreen washer jets and low washer fluid warning light.

Potenzas, I presume? I've always been happy with mine - good tyres in my book. Very nice looking car, good to see some xenons... just wish they weren't so damned expensive!

Yeah Potenzas. I have never had anything else to compare and its not rained here since I got my car so I cant say anything about them.

Nothing wrong with Bridgestones - although they are a little noisier than average.

My Mk5 came with Bridgestone 050s.  When I replaced the front tyres with F1's there was very little difference in grip, steering or handling.
The F1's wear faster.

Very noisey tyre, tends to get alot of tyre Roar, on the upside, very hard wearing.

Is there any logic as to why some Mk6s seem to be on Bridgestones and others (like mine) are on Continentals?
I would have thought they'd all be on one or the other.

Yep, have heard that constantly and was gutted when I saw them fitted on my car sitting outside the showroom come collection day.  However, even with a 270 remap and clocking up nearly 6000 miles already I just can't fault them and they give better feedback than the Pirelli's on my scirocco.
