Title: Upholstery repair

I have a 5-door Mk2 Golf with a rainbow interior. I've replaced the worn bolsters, but the driver's seat back is torn in the usual place. A replacement is hard to find, as most come in the 3-door variety.

I think the best option now may be to repair the material on the seat back. If I manage to get a seat back cloth from a 3-door, would it be possible to take the material from this to replace the worn panel on my seat? I'm guessing it may be better to use the cloth from a passenger seat, as this will be less worn?

Can anyone recommend anyone around the South Yorkshire area who can do the repair for me, if I supply the material? Sewing isn't my strong point..  :smiley:

........late reply i know but there is a a top bloke in Harrogate who could do it.

Hi,

I bumped into a guy @ GSF in sheffield who'd just had his seat done at a place in chesterfield and it wasn't too bad at all.

I can't remember the name though  :sad:

Try googling and see what you get. I'd remember the name if I saw it.

The bloke I bumped into had the centre piece matched and a new seat cable for about £60
