The other day after coming home from a night shift went to put my car in the garage BANG! I hadn't opened the door enough and snapped my aerial off (Stupid tired baby I know, I know!) :embarassed:
Is the roof fitment knackered or is it just the aerial? Aerials come with a male thread on the end and my damaged aerial has no male thread just a square fitment. Do you think the thread is stuck inside the roof fitment?
How easy is it to change the roof fitment?

IIRC, it's a screw-in item
Looks like it's fubar'd.
Hope I'm proved wrong though.
Not an expensive item off Ebay - bit of a sod to replace the base though. Got to get under the headliner....

Lucky really , i did the very same thing, but it dented the roof, and the cost was 200 quid !! Since then I put on stuby aerial from Fleebay, no problems since  enjoy Steve30

Not too bad to fit a new base, a bit of a fiddle but possible
Although this link http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3508 (http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3508) is to retrofit a sharkfin, the basics are the same
