Am thinking about upgrading brakes in the near future..couldnt budget a GTI so unfortunately i have to deal with a 1995 1.6 8v 5door 4 stud fitment!!.. which is fun but braking is lairy at best.. am having brake lines stuffed with new blood next week but How would i go about fitting GTI/VR6 brakes calipers, disks and pads would they be a direct fit? as in buy them and bolt them on or would i need new hubs and all that palava ?
cheers guys

check what size brakes you have now. if 239 not a direct fit, you need to swap the bearing carriers for 256+ 4 stud ones. if you have 256mm brakes then you can fit the calipers n carriers from a 280mm equipped MK3 Golf or SEAT. Cant use MK3 GTI bearing carriers as these are 5 stud and this would involve lots of other bits swapped to finish the conversion.

Or a cheaper option, fit good quality fast road pads.
