Title: vr6 Question.
Post by: ian24driver on 14 October 2009, 22:04

Currently have a tidy mk3 8v but keep finding myself wanting a vr6, no idea why, think it maybe the engine or just because.

Does anyone know a reason not to get one, and on the other hand why i should.

I heard to stay away from earlier ones as the engines have a a few probs the later ones dont, is this true?

any advice will be appreciated.

Buy one, you won't regret it.
Early models suffer from headgasket problems.
If serviced properly you shouldn't have too many problems.
Watch out for chain rattle.
