Title: handbrake light stays on

hi guys,
any ideas??????

went to work in the car yesterday and the handbrake light stays on.....(the handbrake is off)
i took the cover off this morning and checked the wireing /connector and the switch,all seem fine.

is there anything else i could check????

There is also a switch on the brake fluid reservoir

Could be low brake fluid.

Or could be that you have more that 1 abs fault.

Your abs light should come on when you start the car, then go off after a few seconds.

If it doesnt light up at all when you start the car this indicates that the bulb has blown, or been removed to hide a fault. And the handbrake light is now warning you of 2 abs faults.

its at work at the mo getting a new windscreen fitted!!!!! grrrrr  that's another rant for another day....lol

i have this also. My abs light is on aswell.

What possible abs faults are there, multi sensor??

well guys mine seems ok now :smiley: :smiley:

there is a plunger type thingy....lol  in the brake fluid res that was just a little stuck.(it's like a blue dip stick )
cleaned it so it now moves freely,and the light has gone out.

is there supposed to be a cap/lid type thing to stop it comeing through the top of the res though???

as mine now comes through the top of the res.....i cant remember seeing it do that before.

Someone silicon seald mine for sum reason got another cap from a breakers and mine is still on
