whats the differance between comps and coxials?
i have a polo 6n and what is the key to getting a really loud system with top quality too? wot speakers to use were?
-
Components are where the tweeter is separate to the mid (they will also have a crossover - either in-line or in a box), co-axials or 2-ways is when both are together. Comps are better as you can get improved stagging because you can place the tweeters virtually anywhere.
As for what's the best speaker - only you can decide by listening to them and deciding which fall into your budget.
Can't help on locations as I'm not familiar with the Polo.

yea nice 1 mate. (i have a mk3 gti too btw) yeah the systems loud but sh!t quality. i have them fli interceptors in the doors, some jbl gto 6x9s on the shelf and a a fusion 10inch double sub amped up.
i have a 1600w 4 channel amp. should i get sum components and amp all the speakers up. the run the sub from the 2channel amp(bridged)?
there are grills in the dash for tweeters. and shud i dynamat the doors?
-
So what is connected up to the amp at the moment? What does the H/U run?
Definitely get some decent components for the front doors and definitely dynamat the doors, but the inside of the outer skin.
-
just the sub is connected to the amp. the 6x9s and fli coxials are runing from the HU. the HU is a sony xplod 52x4w, (its a good 1)
im just not sure bowt all the settings on my new 4channel amp. (the sh!t loads ov settings) and wot abowt -6db, 0db and +6db?
could u also tell me wot the setting shud be set at. i want it to be crystel clear and very loud.
cheers

Run the front speakers and sub off the amp and the rear 6x9's off the headunit. You would probably be better ditching the 6x9's and upgrade the standard rear speakers for rear fill again run these off the headunit.
Try this before you change the front speakers.
The -6db, 0db and +6db are the gains, which the user manual will explain. Adjusting these will improve the sound.
-
Plus you can bridge 2 channels in the amp to run the sub and use the other 2 channels to run the fronts
-
wot if i ran sum front componants from the amp, and run the 6x9s from the amp, then hav another amp for the sub?
wot abowt the setting on my HU and amp? shall i just hav a play abowt with them or not?
-
the -6 0 and +6 are not gains it is bass boost do not bother using it it just creates more distortion leave it set on 0 and set the amp up correctly
-
o, ok. i cant wait til its set up properly. i hate havin sh!t quality sounds.lol. il get on here if i hav any problems thanks lads
-
You will need to find out how many outputs your H/U has before you can decided about more than one amp!
-
it has a front pre out, a rear pre out and a and a 1 labeled `sub`.
