Title: felt a bit bumpy
Post by: the_stink on 13 October 2009, 22:55
all of a sudden tonight it feels a bit weird, was driving to my mates house on the dual carriage way just toddling along and the ride just felt a bit od the front wheels felt bumpy not sure if its to do with tyre pressure but checked the bolts on the wheels and they are tight not really sure what it could be weights missing from the wheels? did have the tyres changed last week but they were balanced etc

Does it vibrate through the steering wheel?

Could be different Tyre characteristics from what you are used to?  :undecided:

Rhys thought he had problems when he changed from the GY F1's .

Mine felt like that and I thought I'd knocked a weight off one of the wheels.

aren't you supposed to replace all 4 tyres at the same time on 4 wheel drive vehicles??

could be a difference between the two brands you have on there  :undecided:

get the tracking checked and get the wheels re-balanced and go from there

The Tracking was checked when they were replaced, the rear driverside was replaced a couple of weeks ago when the valve went on it and the rear passenger side has got tons of tread on,

I know your supose to change all 4 at the same time :p

im going to go to the tyre place after work to get them to check the balancing

don't forget that temperatures are dropping now so that will have an effect on the tyres performance

I noticed a big drop off in performance last year when i was running the old GSD3's on my Monty2's - anything below 5C and you had to be that little bit extra careful :afro:

Well hopefully it is just a silly weight that has fallen off, will check the tyre pressures as well, did a round trip to reading the day they were fitted to see Guy

I had that with mine after i had two new fronts - a weight didn't fall off but ended up in a different place - it was fine until you sat at motorway speeds

Got them re-balanced last week and all is well

I think somehtign is still wrong :( dotn know if it me jsut being over paranoid now but the ride still feels a tad lump at the front checked the tyre pressure last night and thats fine might go to kwick fit tomorrow have them go over it once see if they find anything wrong or it could just be beacuse they are new tyres but i wouldnt of thought that would cause lumpness more get rid of it
