Thanks yes that has answered my question.
Ok heres the game for you, what the hell is my rad pipe from, my local vw don't like me as everyone I try is wrong!
The first half of my part number has been wiped off and after asking 3 other Limited owners they have found the same. (This was done to lots of parts on the Limited)
I have tried a Rallye one, but that is too short, a Golf G60 one longer than teh rallye one but still to short and the expan, pipe is in wrong place. After eleiminating etc... with vw part numbers I found a G60 raddo hose ending with the same few numbers but that is wrong too.
So what is it???? It is starting to drive me mad, on teh Limited part number list it has a TP code which is a vw motor sport code, but it means it came from some vw or audi just trying to work out what thinking to 1989

just give samco some dimensions and they can make you one, and i doubt youll have to replace the samco one ever
-
Yes that is what I am going to do if I can't find out what it is, but I would really like to try and find out what car it is from, even if it is just for interest.

bit of a long shot, but Bahn Brenner in Washington do the 16v supercharger kit, and this is mentioned on their webpage
http://www.bahnbrenner.com/bbmservices/16v.html
scroll down to the "Complete Integration Kit" and you'll see.....
BBM SC-16V Upper radiator hose customization
might be worth sending an email their way ?
-
Thanks I know BBM well ;)
But no they did send me a replacment one when doing teh charger and it was a G60 one so still not long enough!
-
its probably off something stupid like a 1.3 c or something! ;D

to give you a clue, I have put a red cross at the ends and tried to show you with red lines as it goes under a cover

I can see now that you havn't a hope in hell of fitting a normal 16v one.. that is strange. So, the part number is a VW motorsport one? Meaning it may or may not have been robbed from the universal parts bin.. I'll keep an eye out down the scrappy, but don't recall seeing anything like that on anything else.
I do love you Limited.. just what I like in a car - all go and no show ;D
The engine bay looks mint, as well - both in terms of what is hidden in there and how well kept it is ;D
Good luck hunting
-
even easier just get the inside and outside diameter of the pipe and find someone who sells it by the meter, and just cut to fit :D
(sorry g6 i know you want the real one :P)
-
Sadly my engine bay is not that clean, that is a pic of Limited G6DUB that was sold earlyer this year mine has a bit more rust than that :(
Yes motor sport didn't have anything made for the limited so it has to come from something, possible a audi of somesort, I willl find out in the end I am on a mission lol
veedub i wish it was that easy but it has the smaller pipe coming off of it to the exp tank, so it will be a expensive samco expensive by the looks of it
