Hello Peeps,
Car recently came back from the bodyshop, rear panel was resprayed.
The dudes broke off my badge and i have been looking for a new one for a few weeks!
VW and all other outlets are saying the ones with the fixings+rear side fixing stubs are now obsolete.
I have seen similar items that were on mk3s and look the same but these are "stick on"...
Anyone know if these are ok to use? Will the holes be exposed to water, leaks, rust etc? if i go with the stick on badges?
Thanks

I know this will be a little gypo, put fill the holes right up with silicone mastic and then apply the badge as normal. You just need to stop corrosion from under the paint

As above thats what I did.

The mk3 badge is slightly smaller but will cover all the holes. Only an expert with a tape measure would know the difference when fitted!

They are indeed becoming difficult to source. There is an ebay seller out in Greece who charges over £20 for one!
They do pop up every so often for sale on various Golf forums and ebay.

I have one for sale dirt cheap bud, a fiver posted and its yours, its on ebay at the moment, it is black though, but you could spray it?

Thanks people!
you have pm

the MK3 one is more chrome than the mk2, which has a more brushed finish. I may have a spare badge somewhere but it wont be mint, so would prob let your arse end down

I filled and painted the recess mine fits in. Looks much better.

i also have a spare one kicking about if you want it! not as rare as you may think!
