Title: Anyone either used or had applied the "Glare" sealant??
Post by: bruin3182 on 12 October 2009, 12:21
Having now found out a bit more about this sort of thing..... I had the Autoglym Lifeshine treatment applied to my new mk6 White GTI -

I now know that this was a bad idea after what I've read on here....

I have had no end of trouble up to yet with black specks in my two week old White paint and my car is now back at the dealers hopefully getting sorted out.

Now..... I'm gonna try and claw my money back for the Autoglym and might think about this glare sealant stuff....

I'm not a lazy - but the car has to live outside all year round and I only really have the opportunity and time to properly clean it every two or three weeks.... So I thought the sealant would be a good idea!!??

Help.

Hi,
I've had 3 cars sealed in Glare as part of a detailing package.
It's suggested it will last for up to 5 years due to how it bonds to the paint at a molecular level. Personally I will get it detailed way before then. That said it truly is fantastic stuff, I'm incredibly anal about tar on either my wife's Red Colt CZT or my Steel Grey edition 30.
I wash the bodywork every 2 weeks and have yet to find any tar that cant be removed by a lambs wool mitt even on the lower door sills.
The beauty of the product is that you dont/should clay/polish wax afterwards.
If I run the back of my hand across the panels they are perfectly smooth even 4 months after the application.

That Glare stuff sounds very similar to the Jetseal 109 to me.
