Title: fan switch
Post by: Rick#55 on 11 October 2009, 22:03
Hey guys, my fan switch is playing up, well, its not really playing up as such, it works but only on full tilt, so i can either have no air or blast your face off, are they removable or do i need a whole new dash unit console?

is it climatronic or manual? if its the manual set up it could more than likely be a faulty resistor for the heater blower

Taken from another forum:

First off you dont need to take your glove box out as many other how to's suggest.

Under the glove box on the far left  you will find a couple of plastic screws holding some foam trim in place take these out and pull the foam to one side.

Pull out the connector with 4 wires in it, then undo the 2 gold screws with either a 6mm socket or philips screwdriver the resistor pack will now fall out.

ah, just found the problem, i think its related to when the pollen filter cover was broken and let water in! the last owner was such a bell end and left these little jobs that needed doing for me to find!!
