Title: What's in a name?
Post by: FroGTI on 11 October 2009, 16:53
How much of the Golf GTI's success do you think is down to its name?

On a Ford Transit forum I also frequent (yes, I know, sad... :embarassed:), someone recently suggested that much of the van's success was down to Ford choosing a good name for it back in the 1960s. Whether you believe that or not, "Golf GTI" does sound good (it does in French & German, too). At the other extreme, I came across this the other day:

It's the new... Daihatsu Basket and the name just made me laugh out loud
