Title: f**king mk3 gears

Got into my 96 16v mk3. And it's stuck in third and fourth, v.concerned. So i pop the bonnet, and the part that allows me to change the gears, a plastic bolt has snapped. Why the f**k make it out of plastic. So to get home I either drive the 30miles in 4th or fashion a quick fix out of a nut and bolt...... f**king mk3s!

same happened to me and i was like 100 miles from home. i fixed it with a cable tie, then went to vw and brought the part. its like £15 iirc.

Try a scrappies and you'll get it for a couple of quid :smiley:

sory bout that just saw ur pm.
at least u got it cheap .
my battery is leaking acid and its f*cked it up again, bout to snap.
