nice colour but its a big  on the wheels I'm afraid
-
each to their own, but +1 about the rimmage - looks too small for a big mk6
-
I have to agree on the  comment on the wheels. Even though they are 18's they look really small.
Each to their own though and if they make you happy
-
Nice to see someone having a go with something other than Monza's, as I'm sick to the teeth of them! :lipsrsealed:
However - I have to agree that they do look rather small... and aren't really my cup of tea either.
Nice colour though
-
Now you guys have said there to small I will have to go and have another look tomorrow to see!!! I was going to advertise the monza shadows for sale tonight with new tyres,I think I will until tomorrow!!!!
-
I don't know about the size, but they look awfully skeletal to me. Naked, even.
Of course, that may be why you like them....
Rolfe.

I think your car and wheels look pretty smart Ian. Don't start having doubts with half of these numpties flaming what you have bought. If you like them my friend, then thats all that matters.
-
sry dude, but i agree they look under nourished... the kate moss of wheels...
-
Sweet ride but also have to agree I prefer the monza's. But its nice to see a different look, makes a change from the norm.
-
nothing wrong with the wheels... they just dont suit the car thats all
plenty of brave points though

Im not picking on you but I do wish the american slang for alloy wheels (and a few other things also) would not be repeated on UK forums by non americans. As they have a different meening in English than American. Rimmage/rimming/rims is what George Michael/Elton John do.
I have noticed that the mk6 in photos makes alloys look smaller than they do in real life(well to me anyway).
I also like things to flow with the design lines and not look too big or too small and this is why i think alot of alloys on cars look too big.
-
I agree with R32. Not meaty enough for me. And on a 5 door it just doesn't look like a GTi to me.
Just my opinion I must stres - as long as the owner likes it that's all that matters.
-
Very nice car (and good colour ), but I'm afraid I have to agree with others on the choice of wheels. They don't look meaty enough, IMHO, and TBH... they look a bit cheap, like those we see on www.barryboys.co.uk. But hey, it's your car and if you like them, enjoy them
-
Put the shadows back on or it will bug the hell out of you that 80% of the people on this post think they don`t look right on the car, wheels are ok but look abit too much after market and imo don`t suit the gti :undecided:
-
I want a set of Monza Shadows so that I can paint it piano black with red trims... too... Now just need the rims and a place that does it in the Netherlands..
-
I would go along with Snoopy;s comments - I spent ages looking at them today and they deff dont look small. I agree they do in the the pici but in real life they look bigger. Still not sure what to do now as most comments have been negative. (my kids think there cool and street cred especially when i pick them up from school!!!) Wonder what the other Mum;s thinK????? (I am divorced so I can think like that )

Sorry, but another one that thinks they don't suit the car - and why would you swap out expensive VW rims for cheap aftermarket AEZs ???

Maybe.... just maybe he prefers them.

Not my cup of tea but heh as has been said before "each to their own" nice colour that carbon grey. After DPB that is my favourite colour.
-
Also not liking them, but then again I prefer to OEM+ look instead.
I would have gone with a wheel design along the lines of something you would find on a standard VW though.
-
Kind of smart, Ianb !
-
Glad someone said something positive!!!!! My mind of thinking was the wheels are carbon grey inside and polished on the outside so sort of blends in. Checked with a few people today and had good response, so I think they are here to stay. Trust me they look better in the flesh!!!!!
Are AEZ made in Germany wheels cheap then???
-
IANB, did I see your car out the back of the VW dealer in Camberley last week? If so, the wheels didn't look too small in real life, although they wouldn't be my first choice.
-
Yes that was the one, it was stuck there for 7 weeks whilst I was in Singapore!!!!
-
I think the AEZs look okay, people said the 18'' BBSs on mine look small too.
I think part of the problem is the car is too close to the camera in the shots, maybe you could shoot off a few more a bit further away from the car?
Oh, and if you're flogging the Monza Shadows - how much?
-

no offence meant - all relative but I bet a new monza is more expensive than one aez. But then I'd never put anything bar original or high end tuner wheels such as BBS , ABT etc on a car
-
dude them alloys are naff. why didn't you get the monza shadows.

Dude, he has the monzas but is selling them because they're too easy to kerb.
-
Percymon I reckon your right about the price but there again all VW parts are more expensive - I think someone said they are £400 a wheel dont know if thats correct. Someone has offered me £1200 for 4 wheels with Dunlops on brand new but not sure if he is time wasting.
