I been a member on here 9 months now, and 1st time i been on this thread, Thing is i had my monza blue mk2 16v 10 years now, An i wash it every sun, An every other sunday i wash it dry it with soft chammy thing from pound shop, Polish it with either T, cut colour match or auto glym super resin polish, An use Auto glym bumper care an glass polish, My missus thinks im mad an folks in street reckon im gonna wash it away,
But i been readin some stuff on here about Dryin cloths an clay bars an after polish usin wax,
I Think my car looks bang on when i finish, But after readin this im considerin tryin it out,
What difference could i expect,,
-
a BIG difference! you'd be pleasantly surprised!
-
Should i go 4 the clay or just try the wax after polishin cause its pretty smooth as i been polishin it on a regular basis,
-
I have just trial clayed a bit of my car and wow, you need to give it a go!
-
Where do they sell it, halfords or motor spares shop,,

Clay is useful if after washing the paint still feels rough. Give the car a polish (use a decent wax and not AG SR all the time) and then wax it (this will protect the finish) again invest in a good wax.
-
applying a sealant after you polish it will ad even more protection as it has uv inhibiters in it, then cap it off with 2x layers of good quality wax
-
So that auto glym sr is not very good then, What polish do you reccommend, Cause i was under the influence auto glym was a great polish, And which wax, cause i am gonna get me some this weekend an give it a good seein too,
-
well i was the biggest cynic about the full on " Detail " having been a fan on megs 3 stage . car came up good, albeit it with continual work.
Now Mr TONA has worked his wonder on both the Phatsat and the Ashtray Wagons, they are SOOOOOooooooooooo easy to wash and with a once over with a quick detialer look the mutz again . :afro:

any of the dodojuice range will please you  though a little pricey but well worth the dosh.
collinite 476's or 845 will give you protection
or if you have megabucks you could splash out on some swissvax.

For a polish try Poorboys http://www.poorboysworld.com/poorboys-polish.htm (http://www.poorboysworld.com/poorboys-polish.htm)or Clearkote Red Moose http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/glazes/clearkote-red-moose-glaze/prod_118.html (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/glazes/clearkote-red-moose-glaze/prod_118.html). AG SR is slighty abbrasive and contains filler which mask the swirls. It has it's uses but like T-Cut hasn't really been improved over the years.
-
Actually your being a bit optomistic, all the damage to the paintwork has been done (by TCut and Poundland cloths) so you really need to start from fresh, you need it machine polished to remove swirls and other defects and then wax or seal ontop.
SRP is good at masking swirls but it wont remove them (hardly) and it'll also wash off as its not a sealant or wax. Ive got dodo juice purple haze but would opt for zaino all day long. Much much much glossier, lasts longer and is easier to handle.

It hasnt got any swirls in paint work, The thing i was usin from pound shop is like an absorbant cloth an not like a leather chammy, I was just lookin 2 upgrade on what i was already doin,,
-
personally i would chuck all your current cleaning stuff away and start fresh. Have a good read through http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ and then spend some moneys on some decent products from http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/

I think im gonna ditch the auto glym an stuff then, An start again, It has opened my eyes a lot lookin through this stuff, The folks in the street will think im totally mad now,
-
at least your car is grateful for you cleaning it properly! F-ANX!

dontt bin it. AG SRP is good to have on hand for some jobs. As said before it's good a filling swirls rather than removing them, but top it with a good sealant then wax and it will look good for months.

Not as mad as snow foaming a car in the street like I do!!
Invest in a decent dry weave and MF cloths along with a good polish and wax.

Don't bin all your stuff, just add to your range of products. The stuff you have already got might come in handy one day.
The first few things that will make a massive difference are a good drying towel, a clay kit, and a good quality wax. You will be amazed at what difference the clay will make.
