Title: how do you fit an oil pressure gauge?
Post by: Khare on 09 October 2009, 19:54
As title, thinking of buying one (just so it looks fancy ). Are they hard to fit? what do I need? and what is the normal oil pressure?

Sender goes on oil filter housing, there are combined temp and pressure sensors available.  You can also get a pair of gauges in one 'dial' as it were, so you have all the oil-related info you need in one place.

Nice one DH, I'll have a look at those gauges with temp and pressure in one dial, although not too bothered on temp as I have that in the MFA.

EDIT V2.0: Or there is this, which I think you were talking about (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SANDWICH-PLATE-for-OIL-PRESSURE-TEMP-Sensor-in-BLUE_W0QQitemZ370271189019QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5635e1f81b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14), but I'd personally prefer the first one meself.

2 questions.

What should oil pressure be:
a) at start up
b) when fully warmed up.

Also, what size are oil cooler blanks? Need to know so I can choose the right adapter.
