Right peeps need some advice as im really stuck.
was thinking of putting my golf back to normal and then selling it so i can spend the money on the fire and ice.
all i was gonna do is take out my Rallye interior and replace with the late 16v interior and put ona set of RA's. Maybe then put the car up for around 1300 quid.
what do u reckon ??

fire & ice will be the better investment without a doubt, but it's all down to how much you personally enjoy driving each one, and how long you intend to keep either one !

in honesty id would clean up the fire n ice and sell it now. its only an 8v so not really that desirable.
whereas good clean 16v's especially well spec'd ones are becoming few and far between.
if the 16v shell is clean then id hold on to it. it will fetch more money than the fire n ice ever will.

sorry, im disagreeing. the f and i is worth alot more than the 16v and will definately draw more looks from those that know what there looking at. the f and i is rare, the valver?? well theres more than enuff on this site alone :P
if u do end up selling the f and i, first refusal this way please :D

so how much you reckon an 8v fire and ice is worth?

Aren't fire and ice left handers?? German Imports i thought, perhaps i'm totally off the mark?

yeah they are left hookers - however the fire and ice was only released in germany adn tehre are not that many over here be it 8 valveers, 16 valvers or g60's.
i suppose the fire and ice is worth more due to its rarity factor its a car that there wont be many off in a few years time so i reckon that would appeal to some- i reckon if i advertised it i would get decent money for it.
Advertised my valver a couple of times but mainly got timewasters no one wanted to give me the money i wanted for it which was around 1800 which is more than worth it consideirng its got a set of nice rms and the full rallye interior. those bits themsleves have got ot be worth 700 quid at least and the car itself is very clean - hence my reluctance to sell it.
end of the day a car is only worth what someone wants to pay for it. i reckoni got some serious thinking to do ???. either way someone is going to get a nice golf. :'( :'(

its hard to say, i'd spend some quality time with each of them, have a good old thrash around and which ever one you like best, keep and flog the other one! simple as that, i'm a great believer on gut feelings. if you sold the wrong one you'd be pining for it so make a careful choice.
i had the choice of selling my golf as i never drove it, due to my company car, but something made me keep it. it sat for almost a year without being driven then i decided i hated my job, quit, and am now so glad i kept my golf! i love it more than ever and the amount of people who stop me to ask stuff about it, i know i made the right choice!
