Title: Glass Cleaning
Post by: Andy-H on 09 October 2009, 13:30
After your help Guy's & Gal's,

Been Cleaning up me new motor and when I got to the glass, I noticed some sort of streaking on the outside. I started trying to clean them off with household glass cleaner but it didn't budge. I have just come in from trying to get the marks off with the clay bar and I'm out of ideas now  This picture is after I had tried everything.......hope you can see it clear enough

Any help greatly appreciated.

Andy

have you used any silicone or other plastic treatment on your trim?

or have you used a wet wax or aqua wax post wash?

have you tried a degreaser?

Nothing silicone based on the trim and no wet wax etc.

Not tried degreaser, I'll have to get some if that's the way forward .

Seems strange though, no matter what I use, it doesn't even touch it, not even a smearing (and I have checked that it's not on the inside ).

Cheers for the replies,

I have some scratch x in the shed so I'll try some of that.
If that fails, I'll try the old vinegar & newspaper trick.

And as mentioned above you can use a DA or rotary with any finishing compound on a low speed setting.

Well the scratch x didn't budge it  Neither did the vinegar.

I'll have to find someone local with a DA that I can borrow.
