Alrite , i have got a 1.8 carb golf , i've fitted the oil cooler from the GTI , but on the water flange from the standard carb setup it has two water ways and three sensor's , this is the one on the front of the Cylindar head once you open the bonnet up ,
But now i have fitted the correct flange to do with the oil cooler it only has two sensor clip in bits with the 3 water ways , so now im left with a sensor left out and this is the temp gauge one for the dash display , could i maybe remove one of the other sensor's but i bet they all have importants roles to play,
The part i need i doubt they make would have 3 water ways and 3 sensor clip in bits ?
Cheers Joe

Heh, flange.
One of your temp sensors/switches does carb stuff IIRC (which I might not).
If you're running a Weber it may be that you can swap one of them out. Check where in the loom the wires out of the sensors go.

The red one is for the autochoke and the grey is for the inlet manifold heater. at a push you can get away without the inlet heater, as you often see people shaving their hedgehogs. One solution is to get a side flange for a MK2/3 8v equipped with aircon, this has a sensor fitting in it you can use.
As DH says if you have a webber then you wont need the autochoke one anyway.
