After much investigation I have narrowed the culprit down to the sunroof drain tubes, where they exit the body of the car in the front door jam. Water is running down the A piller in the door jam, onto the pretruding drain tube and then down into the car, on both sides. Also a sideways rain or when washing the car provides enough water to enter in the panel gap.
My question is - Is there meant to be a grommet or boot here? Or is the best bet to remove the door and seal the around the drain tube myself?
And before anyone says anything, door membranes have been replaced, whole scuttle tray sealed inc around every grommet and cable, all grommets in bulkhead are healthy and drain tubes free and un-chaffed.

You sure you even have a door seal?

You sure you even have a door seal?
+1 cannot see the sunroof drain tubes leeting that much.

Yes both door seals are brand new VW items.
And I never said the drain tubes are leaking, It is the gap around the tube where it exits the car in the door jam of the A pillar that is letting in water.
The question again... is there meant to be a grommet or boot around the drain tube?

Nope, it just points towards the wing and sits in front of the door hinge, hanging by about 7 inches.
Your door seal is what seals the door.

Only thing to do matey to sort this one out is take all your door cards off, seats out, sit or lye bown in the car with some one watering it, do it on a dry day, one door at a time, very slowly, start from the bottom of the car and work your way up. even check the windscreen seal, was that replaced recently? patience is the key! even check the new stuff. good luck.........
them drain tubes, are they split? push some hose on the ends and blow down them whist you thumb or finger is on the drain holes in the sun roof

I already know where the water is coming from. Looks like i'll have to seal it up myself.
