has anyone else experienced stiff gears when starting the car from cold.
its annoying, im going to spray white grease on the gear linkages, (hope that helps)
how do i remove the leather cover around the gear knob without damaging it, i want to spray white grease there too.
also my clutch is really really low, this is also annoying, can i have this adjusted?
any help or advice is appreciated. many thanks

it may well be because your gearbox oil is the incorrect grade but it will be a little stiff as its cold before you move off could try putting it into 1st and then 2nd and then neutral and then 1st
the leather cover just unclips by pulling up and you can't adjust the clutch as such as its hydraulic

this morning was painful, the cold weather wouldnt allow me to change gears outside my house, it took a few minutes and then it was stiff for about 10mins-20mins, getting looser the longer i was driving.
extreamly annoying!!

Hi mate
To be honest with you it is not an uncommon problem, it is due to the temperature of the oil in the gearbox, in the morning the oil is still cold, so as the minutes go on the oil will become warmer and do its job alot more efficiently, loads of cars i have driven have suffered from this, Its not a major issue.
If its really annoying , perhaps give the gearbox a fresh drop of oil

 Good news everyone, i've finally sorted my stiff gear problem
took car to mates garage and he drained the gearbox oil out for me.
He noticed it was unusually smelly (colour was dark brown), i purchased the correct ATF gearbox oil (which was red and very thin).
he topped it up with 2litres as recommended by dealers.
I tested it out immediately and all is now well, no more sleepless nights.
I also noticed a small leak in my radiator, he highly recommended i try and use K-Seal to repair the leak.
so i added that to the coolant tank, plus water plus G ++ coolant.
I hope that does the trick, fingers crossed. Has anyone used K-Seal in the past?

Yep i used it on my previous car its ok not a permenant fix tho IMO
