The general theme is that colour-coded is best, but are you that bothered on a dark car?
I'm in a silver 5-dr and i'm leaving it standard... well, on the outside.

Hi I have just but a 05 GTI in Black but it has the plastic skirts and bumpers which I think look naff can some one advise where I can source proper skirts and bumpers please.

I purhased front and back bumpers from the edition 30 gti which come primed. The skirts I had flattened and painted. It's not a cheap job but I hated the plastic
bumpers. Vw sell the bumpers and you can usually negotiate a discount. Other sites sell them but they tend to charge more.

Just paint the standard GTI skirts and bumpers. I did that from day one on my reflex silver, and it was one of the best 'mod's aesthetically.

TT, did you get the parts taken off or were they done in situ?

Originally done in situ, but the sills subsequently had to be removed to be redone. Hence why it is vital that they are done with the correct flexy plastic primer.
