Title: Double Din
Post by: ipswich1.8t on 06 October 2009, 00:00
Right i'm after a new head unit for my mk 4 , so its got to be a double din .
Much as i would love an Alpine or kenwood one i really cant justify the price tag , so i was wondering if any one had got one of the cheaper ones like you see on ebay ....the funny branded ones....and are they any good , or should i keep saving ?

i've managed to aquire a nice dvd head unit , its a bit unusual , so pics will follow ...but my next question is how easy is it to remove the old cd player and radio ? will the double din fit straight in or do i need a new cage for it ?...and wiring adaptors ??

no special parts required it will fit straight in
the only things you will need will be the correct vw h/u removal keys and an aerial adapter

Seems i need some sort of dash adaptor to fit it as it didnt come with a cage or anything , and also the wiring dosent have the usual iso connector on the back , can i get one of these anywhere ...its a clarion unit by the way ..
