so soon there will be A set of Monza Shadows for sale, may sell as separates for spares for you guys or sell as a set?
Just putting feelers out for now (these will be available in a couple of weeks)
Thanx Neil

What kind of money are we talking for one as a spare. ?
-
Pics please
Anyone know if they are the same stud pattern and offset as the mk5 GTi Monza's?

Same wheel, different colour paint
-
Might be interested for one as spare... but all depends on prices and demand by others... i.e. whether a dood would get all 4 at once...
-
I will take them all  just PM me after you have 10 posts to your name
p.s. I have 3 BBS shadows for use as spares if anyone wants those

Thats just been greedy
Dont really know what sort of money they are worth ?
Wheels are mint with only 1.5k miles on tyres Dunlop sportmax
if you go to racingline.com and click on wheels nd tyres you will see the wheels i have ordered what do you think?
-
If R32UK doesn't want them, put me down as an interested party ££££ dependant.
The VW Racing / Racingline wheels look really good. Similar to Sportek wheels and I'm sure theyr'e very high quality. Although they are expensive they compare quite well price wise to VW accessory wheels bought through a dealer.

Having done a bit of research on the UK/French & German eBay sites when buying my Interlagos, I would say a set of Monza Shadows would probably go for between about £700 to £900.

yes i will keep you i mind no probs,
they paint the wheels any colour you want before delivery,
I have gone for the gunmetal colour should look good against the red and a similar colour to whats on the front bumper etc ?
Also standard centre cap and wheels bolts fit aswell, so these wont be going with the Monzas.

Somebody else running a 3 wheeler then as a second car

The £700-900 price estimate was based on a complete set of 4 wheels + 4 tyres with only a few hundred miles or so on them. The market value of wheels alone (i.e. no tyres) is considerably less, as most people don't want to bother with getting tyres fitted.
-
I'd pay £225 for one with tyre as one of mine has been kerbed.
-
As i said I have 3 BBS monzas II's 100% genuine. Have just checked with the gent I bought them off that they are from a mk5 and had the insides done in black (sho they look identical to the shadows).
I stuggled to tell... but i know you would rather know that, than not kow that. i can post pics if anyone is interested or wants a cheap replacement for a damaged wheel. they have a few minor marks on the laquer but no kerbing from what I remember.
-
As a slight aside, if you intend doing any track days at Nurburgring, then you need to check those wheels are TUV certified - i know racingline say they are made ina TUV approved factory, but that doesn't mean the wheels themselves have been tested and certified.
Same applies for any aftermarket or replica wheels, bodykits, suspension etc - if they aren't TUV stamped then German police will issue a safety warning ticket.

Yeah got them a couple of months back and thought I would wait until another decent monza 2 came along... but got bored of waiting. Had them polished up by a local firm too so they look

Very
I take you just bought some monza II's and had them done like that?
-
They were origonal Edition30 Black Huffs (monza's) but have been done like that in Piano Black. Extremily shiny yes
-
Erm, those black Monza's look sweet as hell.
-
They look well smart, keep well away from the kerbs with them.....

Well, I just discovered another advantage of the standard 17" alloys this morning. I kerbed my near-side front wheel. And guess what? I don't really care! :smug:
If that had been an expensive 18" shadow, I'd be spitting carpet tacks.
Rolfe.
-
All wheels are repairable, even if i had those 17" monza's, it would hate to scuff the beggers.
So even my shiny black ones are there to be scuffed
........just dont tell the wife :lipsrsealed:

Your wheels are lovely, will they chip ?
-
I guess I can get the wheel repaired, but having done that with under 1,000 miles on the clock and so easily too, I wonder if it's worth it or if I should just recover my relaxed attitude to the state of my alloys.
I did it on a rather high kerb outside the church, where the road has a deceptive curve to it. The thing is, I've done the same thing a dozen times with the Peugeot, and frankly a lot worse over the years. Yes, its alloys had scrapes on them, but they weren't that bad - even though I was completely careless about them. These Monzas seem very easy to damage, in comparison to the Peugeot's alloys.
If that's the situation, I'm thinking I might as well just get used to it, and be thankful I didn't shell out for the more expensive ones to wreck.
Rolfe.

I'm not a huge fan of black wheels normally, but those look exquisite. Please post pix when they're actually on the car

Look
How do they do the red lip on Monza II's - is it an add on ring over the rim, like with BBS CH's ?
and where were they done ? A1 Wheels by any chance ?

Very Nice Steve
Back on topic for a while.
To R32UK - Those Monza's you bought for £330 - as they are off a MKV are they the same offset as the MKVI Shadow Monzas?
Only I'm not quite sure about the MKVI offset, but I thought it was slightly different to the 51 offset of the MKV :undecided:

Yep came from a mk5. I would imagine the offset would be exactly the same, as i cant see any reason for VW changing them. Quite sure a dealer told me that the only difference between the monza II's and the monza II shadows was the later being painted black on the inside to make them appear larger.
Will check with my dealer tomorrow
-
Or take a wheel off your mk6 GTI and read what it says on the 17s  Im sure i read many times the offset is exactly the same (51mm). Unlike the scirocco that has a different offset (41mm).
-
if i get around to changing them tomorrow i will have a look and post back with results... although Im sure someone on here has had their monzas off and will know :undecided:
-
I swapped the wheels over on mine, and the offset was.........drum roll please.........actually I've forgotten, but pretty sure it was ET51. I'll check sometime soon.
