Title: Clutch question

Hi guys,

I have just bought a mk4 gti 1.8T and im having issues with the clutch, It is juddering when you move off but is fine other than that (eg) no slipping or awkward changes. The thing is the clutch was replaced 3 weeks ago :embarassed:

Any ideas????

Check your coil packs out. Much more common issue on mk4s.

Thanks for the tip bud, I did a search on coil packs, Im i right in thinking that a faulty coil pack causes hesitation through the rev range and the car to run like a bag of sh*te? If so then i have another question :grin:

My car only judders when your engageing drive in first gear! there is no hesitation or roughness when accelarating through the gears or at idle! Is this still a symptom of a failing coil pack?

Could well be, mine has a ignition amplifier (V5 toledo, but effectively same engine bar a few parts) and it would hesitate at first, then be fine throughout the range. It did get worse over time.

If a new clutch has just been fitted then something is probably wrong.
Is it a hydraulic clutch on mk4? maybe it hasn't been bleed.
