Title: mk4 style headlights...different plug

got a set of mk4 style headlights,not to everyones taste but i like them  anyway they have a different plug fitting to my gti ones. do i have to get mk4 plugs and change them over or can you buy adapter type things?

i had simular problem today mate baught a side repeater to match the one on the other side of my car and it didnt fit as it had a diff plug adaptor so i had to swap it for an erlia model gti side repeater, so back to having od repeaters lol, must be away around the plug things your on about. good luck with it anyway dude. mk4 style lights do look quite nice on some mk3s. i also found out mk4 side repeaters will fit on the mk3 also today which may in trest you  :cool:

Is your car a early one, if so then the plugs changed on the later cars.

no its a 97 p plate, here is a pic of what socket looks like on new light(sorry for bad pic)

That is I believe a standard mk3 plug, why yours is different god only knows.

Has your car got square/rectangle plugs?

May have been changed to early loom.
