Hi Folks,
Working on Guy's car today and noticed when you turn it off the motor on the TB seems to whirr and it spins the throttle spoindle very slioghtly left to right and then stops. Is this normal? Never really fiddle with a MKIII TB before.

Dunno if this helps, but can the sound also be heard from sat in the drivers seat? Coz mine does it. Dunno what is from. but could be from the TB....

Mine did that and the throttle body was knackered...When the ignition is on but not started does the butterfly keep clicking ?
When starting from cold it would cut out unless the throttle was blipped for about a minute...
Changed the TB and all sorted. Doesn't do it now. The above though still wouldn't throw an error on vagcom but the measuring block for the TB would show the butterfly angle was well out.

no butterfly clicking... just makes the whiney noise on the thottle spindle when the engine is stopped...

on my old 1.4, you could get the throttle body to re-align it self, and it would do what you said, make a little noise while it was repositioning it self.
I carnt remember the procedure for it, but it might of been something like turning the igntion on whilst your doors were open or something silly.
