Title: Wing mirror casing

Is it possible to remove the platic outer caseing of the wing mirror from the mirror stalk?

I've stripped all the internals out of the mirrors but it looks like it is impossible to take the plastic mirror case off of the metal stalk. It looks like it might be assmbled and pressed together with the plastic cas already on.

Any ideas?
