Title: so I was driving along in my GTI and .......
Post by: indigti3 on 01 October 2009, 12:31
The car just cut out and wouldn't start again.  I came out and locked the car, alarm activated, I waited 30 secs, deactivitated the alarm and tried to start again with no joy.  I had to lock and walk.  Can anybody advise what I should check?  Indi.

That is my thought too Wayne, I will be having the Pirahana alarm/immob removed today.  Hopefully all will be fine then.  cheers. Indi.

If everything in life was as reliable as a Volkwagen - Yeah Right!!!!!!!

Not really a VW fault. More likely to be the aftermarket alarm/imob at fault, or whoever fitted it at fault.
So in theory, your quote on a sarcy comment on VW been unreliable. then its not been backup up.

...Or it could be the dreaded crankshaft sensor, ECU relay, Fuel pump relays, camshaft sensor fault... i think the unreliability comment could be justified!

I have only been driving this car 5 days and already I have spent a small fortune on keeping it going, not air freshners :)  I just hope the crank sensor will fix my issues.  I also have to buy new shocks for the rear, any recommendations?  Indi

I think standard, but better quality than stock if available.
