Title: Airbag Issue

Hi Guys,

This morning I got the dreaded airbag light so I got the vag.com and got the below error

VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-US

Control Module Part Number: 6N0 909 603 F
  Component and/or Version: AIRBAG VW2          V00
           Software Coding: 00070
            Work Shop Code: WSC 01317
1 Fault Found:
00588 - Airbag Igniter: Driver Side (N95)
        32-00 - Resistance too High

Does anyone have any ideas as my MOT is this week???

HELP HELP HELP Please!!!

It will be the seat wiring, try cleaning the plug with electrical contact cleaner and see if it clears.

I cannot find any wiring under the seat, could you direct me?

Anything going to the seat belt buckles, if not then it will be the steering wheel wiring, dissconnect the battery for 10 mins and remove it, clean the plugs etc and retest.

Airbags and faults are not tested at MOT so this won't be a fail.

As said check the wiring connector under the seat, yellow from memory.

If its not that check the earth on the airbag ecu behind the centre console attached to the transmission tunnel.

If not that check the slip ring wiring on the steering wheel behind the airbag.

Before messing about with any of this disconnect the battery and wait 10 to 15 minutes before touching anything.
