is there a better way of gettin my trims black again???? is spraying them satin black an option???

Turtle wax Back to black is good... its silicone based so will stay for quite a while and no need to buff! Its cream colour so will not disturb your paintwork if you have dodgy hands
Or some people say boot polish, linseed oil and peanut butter, but whatever works for you!

Try a search to..............

Hi Mate
After reading on here about boot polish I gave it a try and after a couple of coats it comes up a treat. I take my car to the local IMO and after pulling out I coat my plastic in boot polish and it looks great. I only use the ASDA own costs 85p a bottle and has the foam end on it so goes on lovely. As I say after a few coats it comes up lovely just look at the picture of mine. This picture was took after cleaning the car but I had not used the boot polish for a couple of weeks. If trying just watch out for runs as they are hard to get off if left a while. Cheers Deano

I have tried the following: Black Wow, Mer Bumper Gel, AutoGlym Bumper care and Peanut butter. The peanut butter involves more work and leaves a matt finish. Black Wow is good but even after a second wipe - the product still streaks. Mer and AG are both good. Simple to apply and remove, leaving a fairly durable semi glossy finish.

try a bit of heat as it often brings back the black ! (but be carefull!!)

I did mine for the first time about 6 weeks ago with boiled linseed oil after reading about it on here. Absolutely spot on. My rear spoiler and front splitters were really grey and it still looks really black now even after rain. best thing about it is its dirt cheap from hardware stores and you only need a tiny bit at a time. a bottle will last years!
careful with disposing of the rags tho, can spontaneously combust apparently!

I always used to use a bit of motor oil or cooking oil. Just remember to rub it in really well so it doesn't drip or run.

Thanks for all the suggestions,
In the end i decided to go for the boot polish again with the foam end and after a couple of coats it came out quite nicely
and it was cheap stuff from asda better than being bent over by the tw@s at halfrauds
cheers

+1 for boot polish. I've been using this for the last 6 months with no problems. No running, and lasts for ages.
I use Morrisons brand 89p liquid scuff remover with foam applicator, not that cheapo Asda stuff
