This will sound really daft to most people on here but I've inherited a Cd autochanger under the passenger seat.
When playing CDs and going over anything remotely like a bump it skips. >:(
The Auto changer thingy is only velcro'd to the carpet.
Wot can i do ???

secure it would be a start! either use the existing brackets or make some. mount it on some thing like a rubber mat too, this will absorb a lot of the shocks.
-
does it have settings for orientation of player. some do and if this is not set in the right direction it can cause excessive jumping. in my old 5 series i put the cd changer under the seat without it being fixed down and it never jumped at all, plus when the car got broken into by scum they never found the changer.

It doesn't have any backets that I know of, but should I mount it directly to the floor of the car? Don't fancy drilling any holes in the floor :-\
I understand the rubber mat idea, shold provide some shock absorbsion, is there anything readily available at Electronics places like Maplin?
I'll try to have a good look at the player over the next few days. It's an oldish looking Pioneer radio cassette (KEH-P16) with a remote 6 CD player. I haven't got an instruction manual. I'm more than happy with how it works and I'm never going to spend any big money to get something better, just want to listen to CDs that don't jump :(

what about mounting a peice of MDF to the underside of the seat? shouldn't be too hard to do. then screw the changer to the underneath of that as you would to the floor of the boot. should sort a few things out. inside the changer there is suspension and if it's moving around that can't work as it should. :)
