Title: High level brakelight install
Post by: simoncjohn on 19 September 2004, 20:32
Hi guys, i've just installed a RING LED high level brakelight - but i'm having problems getting it to work...

Whilst following the instructions it says i need to isolate the brake light fuse...done that, i've then extracted the rear light (right hand side (as you look from behind)) cluster. I've then removed the cable connector and by using the supplied wire connector connected the positive cable to the (what i think is the brake lamp???) as you extract the bulb cluster connecter i've wired it to the black and red wire... i have then earthed the negative wire to bodyshell.

i'm assuming it's not the black and red wire???

do you know where i'm going wrong?? i'd really appreciate any ideas.
Cheers, ;D

p.s. i have a 1997 GTI 8V mk3, pushing out 130+bhp, (full powerflow exhaust, big K&N induction kit) and soon to be installed FSE Power Boost Valve... i'll let you know how that goes. Next step lowering, and possibly a superchip!

If anyone out there has a similar set on their car i'd like to hear from them... compare notes etc.
