Title: Door trim removal
Post by: Crookedeyeboy on 23 September 2009, 17:04
Didnt know which section to put this in.

I have a speaker wire trapped behind the door panel and need to get it out to plug the speaker back in.

Anyone know how to remove the door trim safely?

P reg Mk3 Golf

Thanks

Unscrew locking knob.
Remove front of door handle.
Remove 2 screws in there.
Panel just pops off.
Watch out for wires attached to window buton and speakers.

You may be able to get it out by just removing the speaker!

Take off grille and undo the 4 srews holding speaker in.

I popped the grill off and took the speaker out, it just fell out thats how I knew it wasnt plugged in.

The cable is well and truly stuck up behind the foam and the trim.

Thanks for advice.

Should be 4 screws holding speaker in mate!

So that tells you that some useless idiot has previously played around with the door card for some reason and not fitted it back properly!

Bad sign!
