Does anyone know where (in the UK) i can get a black VW front badge?
I know people have bought sliver ones and painted them black but im far too lazy for that and i dont have paypal so eBay is a no go.
If Parts4Europe claim that what they sell is OEM, why cant we get them from the main dealers?
Is 1T0 853 601A a VW part number?

My local VAG garage who did the body repair after my minor front end "bump" did mine for me, just painted it. Might pay to have a word with a local place to see if they want to do it if your not confident enough to paint it ?

On the website is says
'Fits all VW Golf MK5 vehicles - 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 (only newer 2005 body)'
I have an 05 GTi so does that mean the badge is different and that this one wont fit?
-
The front VW badge/emblem for all the Mk5 GTi year models is the same.
-
I purchased one from dubstop. It fits my 05(55) perfectly. So ^^^ what he said.
-
Good stuff, hopefully i'll get mine today along with my valvecaps.
-
I take it it's best to remove the grill to change the badge ?.
-
No, lift the bonnet up and there is a sort of catch on the back of the badge which you fidle with (its really hard to explain with words, easier to show you) to remove to badge. The new one will simply slot back into it and you twist it back into place so there is no need to remove the grille.

Sorry for hijacking your thread dude, but now that this is answered, does anyone know where I can buy a red GTi grille badge?

Doubt you will find that and will require either yourself or someone to paint it.
Tried eGay ?

You'll have to remove the existing GTI badges from the plate and then stick these on. They are exactly the same size.

I'll stick with my chipped badge for that price! :afro:

You could try a Mk4 Anni rear badge, and stick it on the front grille carrier - 1J0 853 675 AK - about £35 from the stealer.

ive just received a black grille badge from dubstop. i tried to have a quick look behind the existing badge yesterday but couldnt obviously see the catch. can someone please explain a bit more about the 'fiddle' to remove it ?

No catch for me mate, just turned the badge (think it was anti-clockwise) and pulled it out.
2 min job
