Title: Bonnet Release

Hi All,

I seem to have a problem with the bonnet release on the Mkv GTI. I can pull the lever in the cabin and it pops the hood but when i try to lift the bonnet by pulling the lever up under the bonnet nothing happens and does not release? I have pushed and pulled it around but still no joy. It does lock down again when I push the bonnet closed and will pop when i pull the lever in the cabin again but just cant get it up.

Any ideas? I am driving from Reading to Cornwall on Thursday and need to check the levels.

Sorry mate but other than spraying wd40 over the parts you can see/reach can't help further.Couple of threads on here at the moment about this,time to get the wd40 on mine when it comes back.

jack the car up using a suitable jack and NOT the widow make supplied

You might be able to reach up from underneath the car to release it  :undecided:

Think I've seen a couple of threads where others have done this
