Title: RCD510 help please

Hi guys and girls, well im asking this on behalf of a friend, basically he's just bought a brand new gt tdi with the rcd510 in it but was wondering if its possible to upgrade this unit to have sat nav on it or would he need a new head unit? any help would be great thanks  :smiley:

your friend would need to upgrade to a new head unit  RNS510, as the RCD510 cannot do nav.
ebay is probably cheapest, or you could go for an after market head unit, which may be better than the RNS510

Hi.

If you have a car with a RCD510 and swap the head unit for the satnav version, whouldn't you have a problem with the GPS arial (which I think is the shark fin at the back?)
