hiya guys, I am after some advice. I have a 1990 gti and the dashboard has no lights. I have changed the bulbs and still nothing. I did use original vag bulbs as I followed the advice of the sticky thread. The MFA still works as do the rev counter, speedo and mileometer. I am at a loss anyone got any ideas? Cheers for any help given.
regards Robin

sounds like either a fuse or the printed circuit has cracked a thread or something. check your fuses and if not thaat then its mulktimeter time

yer check the PCB for cracks a pain in the but to track it round but worth while!

Cheers for the help guys I will get the dash out again and check its circuit board. I checked the fuses before I removed the dash. so think it looks like a new unit and just change over the MFA. is this an easy job, U doint think it will be :-(

Does anything on the dashboard light up? i.e: the foglight switch etc?? If not then it's probably the dimmer wheel above your headlamp switch blown. Get hold of another working switch to test it, shouldn't cost much\anything from the scrappies

Thanmks for that tip but allready tried that and no there are no lights at all aprts from the glovebox one. I am trying to find a 1990 spec speedo for it but all the local scrappys have them missing, is it an easy job to remove the mfa which does work and slot it into a no gti dash but with a digi clock?
